We recently visited Grandma Kathy in Fort Myers, Florida.  It was our daughter’s 1st plane ride and she loved flying! We enjoyed the beach, ocean and beautiful sunsets. We can’t wait to travel with our children.

This weekend we enjoyed our community Easter Egg Drop with neighbors. A helicopter flew over the local high school football field and dropped 10,000 plastic eggs.  All the kiddos were so excited!

Dear Expectant Parents,
As we write this letter we know this isn’t just about us and our desire to expand our family.  It’s about you and your tremendous bravery for doing what you feel is best for your child. We hope through our pictures, video and words you are able to see the deep love we have for each other,  the unconditional love we have for our daughter and the parents we will be to your child. It’s hard to put into words the gratitude we have for you and how appreciative we are that you are viewing our profile and considering us as parents to your child.  Although we could never truly understand the emotions you are feeling or comprehend the weight of the decisions you are making, we can definitely say that we are eager to meet you and hear your story.

We are Aaron and Kate. Our relationship began in 2011 after meeting on Match.com. That’s right…the power of the internet brought us together! Aaron had just moved back to Milwaukee from Chicago and Kate was the very first woman he met upon his return. He knew on their first date that she was the woman for him, and it didn’t take Kate long to realize Aaron would be her future husband.  After 10 months of dating, Aaron proposed on the beach in Mexico. In January 2013, we were married!

Our road to becoming adoptive parents is a familiar one. We always knew we would build our family through adoption. Kate was diagnosed with breast cancer in March of 2008, and while she has been cancer-free and extremely healthy for 10 years, the cancer treatments took away her ability to conceive. Although the diagnosis interrupted Kate’s normal life at the time, it truly changed it for the better. Her fight gave her the ability to persevere and remain positive during the most difficult of times, and she became dedicated to mentoring other newly diagnosed young women.

As a couple, we embrace adoption as the natural way to build our family. Kate and her younger sister were both adopted as infants, and our daughter is adopted as well. We have a close relationship with our daughter’s birthmother and value her as the courageous, inspiring woman she is.

A little more about us…Kate is a Human Resource Manager at a Midwest Bank. She leads a team of recruiters who find people jobs.  Kate also co-founded a young breast cancer survivor support group. She has relentless positive energy and appreciates the little things in life. She loves staying active by doing yoga, kickboxing, and taking fitness classes. Kate always makes it a point to make the ones in her life feel special. Since adopting our daughter, she realizes being a Mom is her life’s purpose.

Aaron is a Marketing Manager at UW Whitewater, concentrating on theater and cultural arts. He is smart, patient and kind. He is the first to help a friend in need. According to Kate, he is always the funniest person in the room.  He loves cooking, jamming out to live music, hiking with the baby carrier on his back, and attending sporting events. Our daughter is so proud of her Daddy. She tells everyone that Aaron built our home, flies airplanes in the sky and is a ninja warrior (he is none of those things).

Our daughter is 2.5 years old. She is seeking a best friend, playmate and partner in crime.  She loves babies, eating snacks and dancing.  We talk to our daughter about her adoption story and she is slowing understanding that families are built many different, beautiful ways. She is also very excited for us to adopt a baby (she tells everyone about it, constantly).

As a family, you can always find us doing something active, like biking, hiking, and traveling to national parks. Most nights we can be found grilling out with family and friends. Our extended family is a huge part of our lives. We take every opportunity to spend quality time with our parents, siblings, aunts, uncles, cousins, and 7 nieces and nephews.

We recently built a home about 25 minutes outside of Milwaukee (country living but close to the city!). Our subdivision sits next to apple orchards and pumpkin farm. Across the street is a cute little general store with pies, fresh fruit and treats. Our neighborhood is very family oriented and filled with young children. There is never a shortage of family-friendly events planned by local parents including picnics, block parties, and even a 4th of July parade! The school system is also ranked one of the top in Wisconsin.

We hope our profile gives you a sense of peace and confidence knowing there is a family ready to care for, provide and love your child beyond limits.  We are committed to honoring an open adoption plan that you feel comfortable with, including various forms of contact to ensure you stay connected with your child.  If you should place your child with us, we promise we will always value you as an integral part of your child’s life, and your child will constantly be reminded of the great love you have for them and the courageous decision you made. Thank you for reading this letter. We would be truly honored to go on this adoption journey with you.

With great love,
Aaron and Kate
