Mike and Joanne

Dear expectant parent(s), 

Thank you for reading our profile, as you consider an adoption plan.  Our names are Mike and Joanne.  We appreciate your time and can only imagine the amount of stress and emotions you are feeling.  

We have been married since 2001. After a year of trying to have a baby, we started the fertility testing and treatments and were unable to conceive.  Our decision to adopt has led us to this new and exciting part of our lives!

We live ½ hour southwest of Milwaukee in a quiet neighborhood with rolling hills and a big yard which includes a strawberry patch, vegetable garden, and Concorde grape vines for homemade grape juice.  We built our house in 2006. Since Mike is a drywaller, he handled all the drywall and painting of the new house.  Our home has been a work in progress.  Every year we finish a section of outdoor landscaping.  One of the pictures is of our latest project where we had some landscaping completed in our back yard. 

Joanne attended UW-Madison and is currently a pharmacist at a hospital in Milwaukee.  We both have different strengths so we complement each other well.  Joanne is loyal, considerate and driven, she loves learning new things.  Joanne grew up in the restaurant business and loves to cook.  Joanne has 2 brothers one older and one younger.  Mike is laid back, hard working and kind.  Mike grew up with 3 brothers and one sister.  During his high school years, Mike also grew up with 5 additional siblings, through adoption, that have special needs. 

In our free time we love to travel and see new things.  We are big sports fans.  Our teams are the Brewers, Packers, and of course the Wisconsin Badgers.  We have been known to schedule vacations around the time when the Brewers are playing an away game in other cities.  We routinely organize Packer and Badger parties with family and friends, as well as an occasional UFC fight.   Some of the places we’ve been to over the years are Colorado, Arizona, California, Washington, Oregon, Las Vegas, Mexico, Italy and Greece.  If we are blessed enough to have a child, our trips would include kid friendly locations like Disney World or locally like the zoo.  We love the zoo!  Besides travel, we like working around the house on landscaping projects, gardening, cooking, hiking, biking and working out. We also love music and comedy.  If a funny comedian comes to town we are there!  We both have nice families that we see on a regular basis.  We have many nieces, nephews and cousins that would welcome a new addition to our family enthusiastically!

We go to as many family functions as we can.  For example: our nephew’s baseball and football games, niece’s basketball games, concerts and dance recitals.  Every year, we organize several trips to the local apple orchard with friends and family.  Holidays, special occasions, or just casual gatherings are often shared with family and friends.  When we host, guests know to come hungry and know that they’ll be leaving with a full belly and leftovers.  We are lucky enough and fortunate to have good people surrounding us.  We look forward to the opportunity and responsibility of raising a child in our lives.
