Jonathan & Melanie

Dear Birth Parent(s),
Inside of you is a precious life waiting to come into the world to walk, run, laugh, hug, learn, and grow. What a gift! We greatly respect and admire your decision to carry this child. We feel so blessed that you would even take just a minute to consider us as potential adoptive parents. Melanie and I know a little bit of what it means to be adopted. God adopted us into his family. That’s why we are excited to share the gift of adoption with someone else.
We met on the cross country team in college. It was a crisp fall evening when we went on our first date. We talked until late that night. Since then we have never stopped dating. We have an incredibly easy and complementary relationship. We have both found great fulfillment in our marriage now six years old.

Melanie has a teaching degree. We recently decided that we couldn’t be the parents we wanted to be with two full-time careers so she now works part time from home as a medical transcriptionist. I am currently doing my dream job as a pastor at a large Lutheran church in northeastern Wisconsin.
Our lives are really pretty uncomplicated and simple in a complex world. We have enjoyable jobs and a very happy marriage. We have a loveable 3-year-old golden doodle named Callie who is very sweet, gentle, and great with kids. We love to spend time together by going on dates, playing outside with our dog, going for walks, and playing games. Our favorite vacations include beach destinations and spending time with our extended family.
Our 3 bedroom home is in a small town on a safe and quiet street with lots of kids. We have space to play inside and out and we live within walking distance to several parks and 2 schools.
Adoption is a vision that Melanie and I have shared for a long time. We have made plans in our home and in our career choices to enable us to be the best parents we can be. We provide a home that is nurturing, warm, loving, and stable. For my part, I know it will be an incredible joy and privilege to be a dad, and I know Melanie feels the same about being a mom.
Well, in a nutshell, that’s us. We hope that behind the words of this letter you sensed what we are trying to convey: we are two people who have a lot of love to give and we can’t wait to share our love with a precious child.
God’s blessings to you!
Jonathan and Melanie
