John & Alisha
Dear Expectant Parent(s),
Hi, we are John, Alisha, and Emery. We are grateful that you are taking the time to get to know us a bit better. It takes great love and selflessness for you to consider an adoption plan for your baby. We know this will be one of the most important and difficult decisions you will make in your lifetime. Thank you for considering our family.
We met in high school while working at Ace Hardware! It didn’t take long before we became best friends. We dated through college and were married shortly after graduation in 2006. We settled in our home in 2007 and wanted to start our family. It was at the end of 2009 when we met a young girl who would change our lives forever. Our daughter, Emery, joined our family in 2010 through an open adoption. John works for a fortune 100 company in Milwaukee as a business analyst and is currently earning his Masters Degree in Business Administration. He is incredibly hard working and devoted to his family and friends. Alisha works in the North Shore area as an elementary school teacher. She loves having time off throughout the year, especially the summer months. Emery is very outgoing and spirited. She is surrounded with love by everyone in our family. She is the only grandchild on both sides of our families so naturally she gets all of the attention. She is going to make a great big sister!
The other members of our family include our two dogs and two cats. Their names are Izzy, Lily, Tang, and Titan. All four of our animals were adopted from various humane societies and animal rescues. Emery loves all the animals and they are very patient and gentle with her. Emery’s first word was Titan!
Although we both have jobs outside of our home, our most important job is being Mom and Dad. It is important to us to have nightly dinners and weekends full of quality time together. We see both sets of grandparents on a weekly basis and spend time with our aunts, uncles, and cousins often.
We have a very open and friendly relationship with Emery’s birthmother and birthfather. We email on a regular basis and see Emery’s birthmother when she is in town. They both want nothing more than for Emery to have a little brother or sister. We want you to know that we will never make our child feel guilty for wanting to know more about you. You are and will always be a very important person to our family and our child. Your child will always have a big sister who knows what it feels like to be adopted. Thank you again for considering our family during this time of uncertainty. Please do not hesitate to call or email with any questions you may have. We want nothing more than for you to make a choice that is best for you and your child. We wish you the best!
Sincerely, John, Alisha, and Emery (Married) 262-957-7732 bb101082@msn.com
