Jeff & Kari

Dear Expectant Mom and/or Dad,

We want to first thank you for taking time to view our profile.  We are not even going to pretend to understand where you are in life and the million things that you are thinking about right now.  All we can do, at this point, is wish the best for you and your child, pray that you find the courage, peace, and strength you need during this time of your life.

We don’t want to bore you with tons of details…those things can be learned about us later, if you want to know more about us and our life.  Please understand that this is all new for us, as well!  It might be easier on all of us if we learn about this process together.

Kari and I (Jeff) met in 2003 ‘online’ yes ‘match.com’ does work.  Kari had just moved to Wisconsin from Omaha, NE for work and had been here about a month when I sent her a ‘wink’ and low and behold she ‘winked’ back.  We had that first date….and to this day; I still don’t really know how it went.  What I do know, for sure, is that I literally had to ‘beg’ for a second date….reluctantly she agreed, and after some time, my witty humor had won her over!  We eloped in July of 2005 and were married on the beautiful shores of Lake Hamilton, Arkansas!

We built a house together in 2006, in the Fond du Lac, Wisconsin, area.  We live in a quiet neighborhood on a cul-de-sac.  Our yard is large with plenty of room to run & play.  There are parks and ball diamonds within a couple of blocks.  Kari is currently a Senior Food Scientist for a large ‘family’ owned company in the area.  Me, well, I have been self-employed as a real estate appraiser since I was 19, working with my Dad.  We have an English Setter dog, ‘Scout’, whom we adore and enjoy spending time with.

Enjoying the outdoors is a passion of ours.  Kari enjoys working in our yard during the summer, gardening and landscaping.  I am an avid outdoorsman – hunting and fishing for anything!  Together we enjoy hiking, cycling, camping, downhill and cross country skiing.  We often plan vacations around these activities.

Now, in case you are wondering what brought us to this point in our lives where we are looking to adopt our first child; well simply put it is due to struggles with our own infertility (four miscarriages and the removal of one ovary due to complications with an ectopic pregnancy).  Through faith and prayer we find ourselves in this new exciting chapter of our lives.

We will end this letter by saying once again, thank you for taking time to look at our profile and please understand that the three most important things to us are:  faith, each other, and our families.  Everything else is just part of the journey.

Respectfully,

Kari & Jeff
