Jason and Melissa

Dear Birthparent(s),

We are Jason and Melissa and would like to first thank you for reading our profile as well as being so courageous and choosing the loving decision of life for your child through the option of adoption. We can only imagine how emotional this has been for you, but we hope to alleviate some of your fears by assuring you of the love and strength of our family.  We feel so blessed to have been led down the road of adoption and know what an amazing journey it is (as adoptive parents) through the adoption of our daughter, Gabriella, almost four years ago.  We are so excited to become the parents of another special little one and give all the love we have to share.  This child will always feel loved, safe and secure, will receive every opportunity for success, and will be the greatest joy in our hearts.

We will make sure your child knows of the loving decision you made and how much you love them through their adoption story, which will remain forever special and held dear in our hearts.  We would love to continue open communication with you through letters, pictures, and e-mails.

Our journey began when we were married in 2000; we always knew that we wanted to be parents and share our lives and love with children; however, due to our difficulties with infertility, we soon found that we would be incapable of doing so on our own.  We know creating the family we always dreamed of through adoption was truly the right path for us and therefore, followed our hearts down the path that led us to our daughter Gabriella's, birthmother, who gave us the most precious gift one can give.

As a family, we enjoy the outdoors, bike riding, and spending time with family (i.e. grandparents and many little cousins!).  We love to travel and love planning to go to new places; some of our recent trips have included Cancun and Disney World!  We are excited to take a new little family member to these places and so many more.

We built our home 2 years ago in a safe and fun neighborhood filled with young families.  Our yard is very spacious and is a fun place to hold family and friend barbecues, play sports, and games.  The inside of our home is warm with plenty of space for children to play and grow. We have a special bedroom picked out just waiting for a child to make it his or her own.

Jason, my loving husband, is an excellent father.  He uses his teaching degree to creatively influence Gabriella's love of learning.  Jason adores being a father and cherishes every moment he has with Gabriella from reading her a story, to cheering her on in gymnastics class, and preschool events.  Jason is a hard worker and takes his job as a life insurance underwriting consultant at Northwestern Mutual with pride.  Jason looks forward to coming home in the evenings, eating dinner as a family, and all the joyful times we share together; and therefore, is a truly amazing father.

As Melissa's husband and best friend, I believe she makes a great mother.  Missy, as most call her, has been said to have a "gentle soul", and I think her nursing patients and family would agree.  As a registered nurse, she has a love of caring for the body and soul, and provides a sense of calmness that comforts Gabriella.   Missy also encourages  Gabriella to live her life to its fullest with joy and laughter.  Simply put, Missy makes life fun, without boundary, through daily care and activities to planning family trips and activities, and she is the anchor of our family.

Our daughter, Gabriella, also known as Gabby, is truly the most precious gift and blessing in our lives.  She is a happy and affectionate little girl who loves the outdoors, gymnastics, dancing, and playing make-believe.  Gabby was adopted into our family as an infant after we were chosen by her birthmother to be her parents.  We enjoy remaining open with her through e-mails, letters, and pictures.  We have shared, with Gabby, her adoption story from the very beginning using adorable children's books and a special scrapbook that tells her story.  Gabby loves to hear how she was chosen to be our daughter, and she is excited to share this bond with a sibling as a big sister!

We would love the chance to meet and talk with you and answer any questions you may have for us.  We are easy to talk to and know this is a very difficult time for you as you make the parenting plan for your child.

Our thoughts and prayers are with you,

Jason and Melissa
