Jason & Cathy

Dear Birthparent(s),

Thanks for taking the time to read about our family.  We are Jason, Cathy, Matilda and Murphy, a family of 4, hoping to become a family of five.  In simple words, family is the focus of our lives. 

Cathy is a stay at home mom and loves that her new career, after being a chef, is now simply being a mom.  Jason was born and raised in Australia so naturally he is a fun loving, active dad.  While Cathy takes Matilda to music class, library play dates and gymnastics at the Y, Jason takes her to swimming lessons and plans on being the girl’s soccer coach or T-ball coach when the time comes.  We feel that we have a lot to offer your child.  Love, understanding, acceptance, and a life filled with adventure and travel.  Matilda made her first trip to Australia at 2 and we try to go back every other year, so your baby, our baby, will grow up experiencing the Aussie Culture.  On our next Australian trip, we plan to spend time in Japan or Hong Kong on the way over.  On the off years we always try to take a driving (Griswold’s) family summer vacation too.  This year we are going to Disney World, Vegas and the Grand Canyon with Grandpa Ken and (Grandma) Nan from Australia.  

We live in a great neighborhood in a comfortable house with a big backyard.  Our backyard is a kid wonderland with the swing set, the sandbox, the playhouse and the list goes on.  All you have to do is be out in our yard and the kids come running.  Within a one block area, we have about 14 kids under 5..it is awesome!  Our town offers a lot of opportunities for family too.  We have a supportive group of true friends, most with little kids, and are involved in our church.  Jason plays softball, tennis or golf whenever he can and Cathy still cooks a lot at home and spends a lot of time in the backyard which is her favorite place on earth.    We take weekly trips to the local farmers market usually as a family and we take bike rides out by the lake.  Murphy rides in the carrier with Matilda which is really cute.  We are friendly, outgoing people that treat others with respect and kindness. 

Things we hope to install in our children.   We both feel that experience is the best teacher so we do a lot of day trips to museums, festivals and other fun places. With Cathy’s family just a couple of hours away in Chicago, we have the opportunity to really explore.   Matilda’s godmother who is in college in Iowa is Cathy’s niece.  She is also an adopted child so she has a special bond with Matilda and is a great role model for her.

Now that we have told you about ourselves, we want you to know that we think that this is a loving and selfless choice that you are making and we have a lot of admiration and respect for you in even considering  the idea.  We can’t say that we fully understand your anguish but we do know the struggle that Matilda’s birthmom and birthdad went through and ultimately the bravery and strength she portrayed in making such a courageous decision.   They are always in our hearts.

We have a lot of love to give and if you chose us, we assure you that we will cherish, teach, love and allow your child to become the absolute best that they can be.
